The Fall Collection: Our Definition of Cozy
Share
The days are getting shorter and soon, scorching summer temperatures will give way (hopefully) to more comfortable days and cooler nights. A shift in seasons is the perfect time to edit your interior for a fresh look that suits the fall mood. When intense sunlight, white or neutral backgrounds, and tropical plants are starting to feel a little tired, bring on rich colors in muted tones, candles, and gorgeous dried plant wreaths and arrangements. We're ready.
Our fall collection is all about comfort and cozy vibes. That means warm, classic colors. Soft textures. Heavier weights and larger sizes—which are perfect for hanging out on the floor in front of a fire, cuddling on the couch, or sharing your living room with buddies for weekend football games on TV.
While we're classic at heart, we're not oblivious to trends. This fall, the 1970s color palette is trying to make a comeback. We're not asking why. Trends are trends and retro is hitting hard, but we're not doing harvest gold and avocado. There. We said it. However, our pillows that lean to the earthier end of the spectrum do sport rich, dimensional hues that standard-issue 1970s browns, golds, and greens can't touch. This is because our fashion house sources of dead stock fabrics are masters at producing distinctive, yet classic colorways.
One trend we are crazy about is texture. Our new pillow collection features alpaca boucle, naturally curly and short-hair sheep shearling, and Chilean wools. We're also doing texture at large scale. That means 22" pillows of sheer softness, which pair wonderfully with our smaller 18-20" couture pillows. Speaking of softness, our standard is that you must be able to comfortably lay your face on the pillow. If you can't, it's not soft enough. Every Dandylion pillow has one side—and most have both—that meet this standard.
Finally, there's nothing quite like sleeping under a weighty blanket. Our new blankets with goat suede edging offer remarkable substance and drape, hugging your body with weighty softness. Perfect for cool evenings on the porch or deck and later, for winter nights on the couch. A big plus—our blankets are machine washable and won't pill. Simply brush the goat suede with a small nail brush or toothbrush to bring it right back to life. Â
Thyme for Fall
Mix up a special fall cocktail, then grab a couple of pillows and a blanket and get cozy.
1oz lime Juice (fresh squeezed)
1oz  Barr Hill Gin (Tom Cat for a richer flavor profile)
1/2 oz St Germain (elderflower liqueur) Fun fact: bartenders call St. Germain "the ketchup for cocktails" because it pairs so well with so many mixed drinks
1/2 T Thyme simple syrup (recipe below)
Shake these 4 ingredients in a shaker and pour over extra large cubes. Extra large cubes or spheres of ice will melt more slowly, bringing your drink closer to the ideal temperature without over-diluting it. Serve in a heavy rocks glass and garnish with thyme.Â
Thyme Simple SyrupÂ
1/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup water, 7 thyme sprigs
Bring to a boil for 3min. Strain and keep refrigerated.
Another tip...garnishes should be something that is in the food or drink. They should help identify subtle flavors that you might not have known were in the dish or drink.
