The Almost One Hourglass

The feeling of time depends so much on you place you’re in and your state of mind, and this hourglass gives us a visceral reminder of this truth. We’re amazed at how quickly its white grains slip through its fulcrum on some days, while on others they seem to slouch reluctantly through, even though it is always 45 minutes that has passed. Studies have shown that to be the optimal frequency at which we should take breaks from focused work, and there couldn’t be more beautiful way to remind yourself to do so.
